Live from the barrel at the Cascade Barrel House. Pours bright translucent cherry color with a rather slight head that left to fast to see the color. This barrel is at 11.2%, Aroma of lightly tart cherries with some bourbon. Med + body. Flavor is sweet/tart cherry with some bourbon and oak. On the top of my tongue it seems oak bitter. In a way there’s enough sweet to suggest a cough medicine. But there’s enough oak and whiskey to cancel out that suggestion. Really flavorful and tasty stuff.

On tap. Deep reddish brown with a coarse tan bubbles head. Deep full cherry and maltiness. Brown sugar and mellow bourbon wordiness. Lots of sour cherry tartness. carmized sugar and bit pie cherry trailer. Delicious.

Draft at Barrel House. Pink hued amber body, small ring of head. Aroma points to the Brett, but the cherries are detectable in there as well. Taste is initially tart , and again the cherries are easily detectable and stand out. Very nice flavors, mildly sweet, but dry tartness finishes it. Amazing how pronounced the cherries are.

On tap at the brewery out of live barrel. Pours a hazy ruby with small white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong cherry skin and oak. Thin mouth with tart cherry, light funk, oak, very nice.

Draft pour, live from the barrel at the Cascade Barrel House. From yesterdays notes. Pours a cranberry nice red color with a beautiful, swirling dark color presentation. Sweet, doughy cherry pie aroma and flavor. Such smooth sweet fruit flavor throughout. Not picking up much of the anticipated spice. Mixed berry late in the palate. Not really that sour compared to others, but damn tasty. Very well done.

Cask - Sweet, light whisky and phenols. Cloudy reddish with a decent off white head. Maraschino cherry, balsamic, some wood and a light tartness. Subtle and nice

On tap at Cascade, pours an opaque dark mahogany / burgundy with a tiny head. Aroma is complex, full of various soured dark fruits, unsurprisingly with the cherries upfront, oak and vanilla. Flavour brings out a very complex array of flavours, full of vanilla, oak, and tart dark fruits with the cherry upfront. Not as good as the original, as there are some paint thinner like qualities buried in there. Nevertheless, a great rendition of Vlad.

Glass at the Sept. 24th Tap it Tuesday. Pours a bright red color, cloudy with a small white head. A big rich nose of cherries and sour wood. The flavor is really deep and interesting with one side dominated by very sweet cherries but on the other side very sour, almost harsh, woody acidic lacto. Light toffee, sweeter malts. Finishes with sweet cherries. Tart to very sour throughout. Very good.
