Beware, this is a BIG beer. Brimming with luscious roasted coffee and chocolate malt flavours which are balanced by a brisk bitterness and bold freshness from the hops. If you’re feeling politically incorrect try it with your favourite cigar, or a dram of your best single malt whisky. Or, if your tooth is sweeter, why not jump in at the deep end with the most decadent dessert of all; half a bottle in a glass with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top (beer geeks like us know it as the Imperial Stout Float). Or simply enjoy it on its own as a decadent dessert or night cap - the perfect winter warmer! If you don’t already know the history of Russian Imperial Stouts please check it out on the internet, it’s a good story. But remember, although based on that century-old classic style, this beer is a very modern interpretation, like all our beers!

Bottle. Aroma has strong chocolate, roasted malts. You can almost smell the black colour. Taste is strong chocolate and roasted. Oily texture. Rather light body. Lacks a bit of complexity, otherwise very good beer.

Tief malziger Antrunk mit leichter Süße. Schokoladennoten, etwas Alkohol, steigende Herbe. 8/10/11/12/12/12

Bardzo porzadne piwo. Ciemne, czarne i geste. Smoliste zarazem i lepkie.

Sehr gut!

Bottle from Asahiya, shared by my buddy David at a dark beer tasting. A dark black pour with a touch of brown around the edges. A sweet chocolatey syrupy sweet pour. Full bodied, roasty bitter chocolate. Quite a good stout. A roasty bitter wine like taste

Pitch black pour with very thin tan head. Roasted smell, not much hops. Nice palate with rich feel but good carbonation so doesn't feel slick or oily like some other high abv imperial stouts. Deep roasted and malty flavor with a bit of bitterness. Hides the high abv.

Single from the LCBO. Pours a real dark colour (cannot see any highlights) with a creamy-bubbly beige head that stays and adds lots of sticky and creamy lace. Aromas of dark fruits (prunes, plums), molasses, roasted malts and even hints of maple syrup. Creamy and smooth, as not to heavy. Good bitterness over the roasted malts. Creates a nice dryness and lingers. The dark fruits are very blended overall in the taste. Quite a beautiful Imperial Stout.
