Beware, this is a BIG beer. Brimming with luscious roasted coffee and chocolate malt flavours which are balanced by a brisk bitterness and bold freshness from the hops. If you’re feeling politically incorrect try it with your favourite cigar, or a dram of your best single malt whisky. Or, if your tooth is sweeter, why not jump in at the deep end with the most decadent dessert of all; half a bottle in a glass with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top (beer geeks like us know it as the Imperial Stout Float). Or simply enjoy it on its own as a decadent dessert or night cap - the perfect winter warmer! If you don’t already know the history of Russian Imperial Stouts please check it out on the internet, it’s a good story. But remember, although based on that century-old classic style, this beer is a very modern interpretation, like all our beers!

Bought at Liquor Shed.
Pours black with a short lived head of tan foam, near zero lacing.
Nearly equal portions of dark chocolate, roasted malt and coffee in the nose. Some alcohol.
Roasted malt, coffee, bitter chocolate flavours, again, some sweet notes here and there. Kinda boozy; some in the taste but mostly after each swallow. Quite warming.
Thick mouthfeel, almost chewy.
Excellent sipper.

Bottle. Color: Black, light brown head. Aroma: Strong espresso, hints of chocolate. Taste: Dark roasted to burnt malt, moderate to medium sweet, notes of dark roasted coffee, notes of bitter cocoa. Earthy. Above medium bitter. Very bittery burnt coffee palate at long lasting finish. Full body, below average carbonation. Straight forward traditional imperial stout. Well balanced. Very nice.

330ml bottle. Pours jet black with a large tan head, good retention. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malts. Taste is rich, chocolate, coffee, roast malt, caramel, dark/dried fruits, liquorice, bitter roasty finish. Medium-full bodied, silky smooth creamy mouthfeel, fine carbonation. A sublime stout, one of the best I've had from this part of the world.

Pitch black pour, tar-like, with a tall tan head that is slow to rise to the surface - looks promising! Notes of roasted malts, ash, smoke, dark roasted coffee beans, cocoa nibs, dark chocolate, dark, bitter cherries, soft caramel. Smooth texture, full, oily body, roasty and bitter finish. An amazing imperial stout, really nicely crafted.
