Flanders Style Ale aged in Pinot Noir barrels with strawberries
Originally made for the 2014 Portland Fruit Beer Fest, also Single Batch Series in May/June 2014 at the Public House. Oakshire's brew team uncovered several of their oldest Flanders Red-style beers aging in pinot noir wine barrels --- some with strawberry and plums added and some were dosed with Brett and lacto. They blended five favorite barrels, aged them for a month on Strawberry puree and added a balsalmic vinegar reduction for a slightly tart and acidic Flemish-style red ale with hints of strawberries, ripe fruit, and a mild lambic-like barnyard funk.

Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5
Draft - Acidic, cherry and vinegar. Cloudy copper with small white head. Cherry, wood, vinnegar and tartness with a malty finish. Very muddy and muted, could use some more oomph.
