Draft - light grains and some sweetness. Clear gold with a decent white head. Grains, light smoke and some mellow bitterness. So little smoke, I wonder why?

Timid.

2015-03-15, draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, 5-3-6-3-12=29
Cloudy blond color. Light aroma, a bit papery; there is some more malt flavor, some wheat bread, still simple though, and the smoke is quite light.
It doesn’t have to be about the strength, so sometimes it’s about the nuances and elegance.
But there is none of there here. Very timid brew.

On tap @ Devil’s Elbow. Deep golden with a medium head. The aroma is lightly smoky with a bready, sort of neutral malt charater. Biscuity, bready malts with a mellow smoke. Nice, good balance.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out a touch of smoke, followed by grassy notes and cereal. Flavour brings out more of the smoke upfront - I wouldn't call this "lightly smoked". Not getting a whole lot else on this - maybe some cereal and grassy notes underneath. Solid for what it is but pretty average beer overall.
