AROMA & FLAVOR

A combination of chili heat and tart apple, mellowed by a dash of sweet, makes for a cider that is both fruity and spicy. A peppery tickle on the nose.

PAIRINGS & SERVING SUGGESTIONS

Serve chilled in the glass of your choice. Enjoy in any latitude with good friends and serve with worldly foods like fish tacos, mole burritos, woodfired pizza or just a crackling bowl of chips & salsa. Bold chefs could use this cider to glaze a steak or saute shrimp. Add a splash of Tequila to a glass of Habanero for more heat, or use as a base in a Bloody Mary.

PRODUCTION NOTES

Aromas are musty apple cider with maybe a hint of habanero. Flavors are similar to nose with habanero coming out more but with a very little heat. Sweet tart. A touch more heat in the finish. Flavors don't quite blend well. Interesting to try once.

Bottle, gifted by Matt. Thanks! This sounds amazing. Anything with peppers makes my want list. A mostly pale apple juice pour with no head. A very solid hot pepper influence here. Breathe in too hard while sipping on this, and you will be coughing. Pepper heat, but doesn’t overpower the flavor. Apple still present. Cream. A fantastic cider to sip on and enjoy the massive flavor going on here. Very nice cider, one of the better ones in recent memory.

500ml bottle at the December 2016 DC area cider tasting. Poured a clear golden color with a small white head. Aroma was spicy! Lots of hot habanero notes. Flavor wasn’t nearly as spicy - but the heat exists in this one. The gimmick was quite good in my opinion.

16.9 oz bottle. Aroma is apples, hot peppers (stings the nostrils), floral, soap, earth. Pours clear golden with a ring of white foam. Taste is very tart before extreme heat quickly takes over. There’s something off in both flavor and aroma that’s keeping me from enjoying this completely. This is really unique and I still want to finish the bottle even with the off-notes, though.

On tap at The Beer Mongers, pours a clear yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out loads of extremely dry apple and habanero upfront. Flavour begins with dry apple, transitioning to habanero peppers which longer on and on. No residual sweetness to ruin this. Wonderful spicy cider.
