Draft - Sweet caramel and toffee. Clear copper with a rich beige head. Orange caramel and a bit boozy with syrupy notes.

On tap at Wet Dog Cafe / Astoria Brewing, pours a clear amber with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out a good mix of caramel malts and resinous hops. Flavour is on the maltier side of things, with woody caramel malts upfront, backed by a nice resinous hop potency. Well-balanced, robust and without any harsh edges. Nice stuff.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a hazy reddish-amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes quickly. Stringy lacing. Malty aroma with some booze coming through. Medium, somewhat syrupy body with flavors of roasted malt, ripe fruit and hops. Alcohol in the background as well. The finish is rich and fruity with a lingering malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft at the brewpub. Malty aroma. Deep amber color with a yellowish beige head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is grapefruit over caramel. Seems more towards an IPA. Finish is nicely bitter. Good drink. However, the descriptions of others makes me wonder whether the bar staff passed me the wrong drink.

Dull dark burgundy colour. Attractive aroma - rich dark muscovado and demerara sugars. Soft body matches these rich sugars, then a firm alcoholic finish kicks in...nice! More a winter beer, but I can see this being brilliant in the rain.
