Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8.5

On tap at Apex, pours a hazy dark orangey brown with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out notes of fruity rye, light oak and loads of resinous hops. Flavour is just the same, with loads of fruity resinous hops, light oak and caramel malts. Wonderfully balanced, with a fruitiness that is dominating. Excellent.

Draft - Ginger, oak and some spice. Cleanish copper with a decent beige head. Stone fruit, yeasty esters and some spicy ginger notes. Oddly nice.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento. CA. Small sample. Pours medium ruddy with a beige/tan head. Med body or so. Flavor is malt, rye spice, and a hop I’m having difficulty with. Not to mention some very moderate wood. Tasty.
