Gregorius shimmers in the glass with a rich dark maroon colour. In the nose herbal and licorice aromas dominate, which are combined with ripe fruit notes. It presents a strong malt body, which is characterised by coffee and roasted aromas. Honey from the region and Alsatian wine yeast conjure up a nice sweet and sour game on the palate. Slightly bitter chocolate flavors accompany the warming finish of this powerful Trappist beer. Deep - Thoughtful.

22/11/2018 - 33cl bottle from a gift. Red brown with a medium fading tanned head. Nose is malts, caramel, honey, banana. Taste is caramel malts, bit chocolate, honey, banana, some vanilla. Way better than when I tasted it the first time.

Really nice, but also heavy. Surprisingly fruity, with blackberries and dried fruits enriching the aroma.
