Gregorius shimmers in the glass with a rich dark maroon colour. In the nose herbal and licorice aromas dominate, which are combined with ripe fruit notes. It presents a strong malt body, which is characterised by coffee and roasted aromas. Honey from the region and Alsatian wine yeast conjure up a nice sweet and sour game on the palate. Slightly bitter chocolate flavors accompany the warming finish of this powerful Trappist beer. Deep - Thoughtful.

Bottle from Carrefour, Nice. Dark brown with a thin head. Strong dark ale with a mild chocolate dryness, with the honey providing a gentle sweetness in both aroma and taste.

Flesje, thuis. Aardig aroma, niet heel bijzonder, ik had een mooiere geur verwacht. Bruine troebele kleur. Goede smaak, maar wel veel suiker. Nasmaak valt een beetje tegen gezien het abv, maar evengoed een prettig bier.

Bottle from Beautiful Beers, Bury St Edmunds. Mahogany, slightly translucent with almost no head. Muscovado sugar, stewed prunes, roasted chestnuts, pumpernickel bread, and naked alcohol in the aroma. Taste taste is sweet at first but there's a fruity hop in the finish, along with a touch of astringency. Plum pudding, milk chocolate and a touch of smoke in the aftertaste. Little to no carbonation, oily body. Simply delicious from start to finish.

bottle from Das Alpenhaus. Dark brown turns ruby when held to the light. Small, tight beige head. Aroma is chocolate, plums, raisins, light savory notes. Taste is a bit fuller, more chocolate, sweet like chocolate covered cherries, nice feel, coats he tongue and lingers for a while.lots of nice flavors, little heat.Still best to sip slowly and savor the taste.
