One of the hel en verdoemenissen I haven’t had yet. Bottle 984 @ home. Pitch black colour with a beige to light brown head. Smells roasty, malts, sweet, chocolate, wood, whisky, coffee and some alcohol. Tastes amazingly deep. Chocolate pudding, dark chocolate, vanilla, roasty, some coffee.. some wood and some whisky. Also nuts (hazelnut). Mostly lots of lovely, sweet chocolate. Full body, silky.. Amazing. This is a desert. Love it.

how can i say what i wanna make clear by this... let me put it this way, if you wanna know perfection, stop searching and drink this ! i was so impatient to drink this ( it had been a rosethorn in the eye for months) so i finaly decided to open it with my dad. first time ever i got speachless. waw. lets not hide it, im a fan of the normal hal en verdoemenis as well, so my expectations where far to high to be healty. and this beer, well, it just CRUSHED my expectations, becouse it was even so much better ! now, how does it taste? to begin , its black. pure black, pure awsomeness. it has a little foam, not to much though. the scent is just waaw already. the taste.. wel, take a hel en verdoemenis, and isolate all the perfect elements , you’ll get this beer ! above is the 2011 version, drank midway 2012. the new batch ( bottles 5th of december 2012) drank 31-12-12 / 01-01-13 . less carbonation ( too little even) maybe the biottle? roasted malts, coffee, bitter, ,cognac, chocolat, heavy mouthfeel, thick, high alcohol , yet realy drinkable. still, again, this is perfection !

Very dark brown. Sweet malt and alcohol aroma. Flavor has some alcohol, but it is well balanced with the sweetness. Minimal hops. Thick and rich palate.

20/04/2012 180ml bottle, shared by Matt (thanks 50belair!). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma color cappuccino, abbastanza abbondante e persistente. Aroma dolciastro, cioccolatoso, con note di cognac, molto etilico, una punta di caffè. In bocca è dolciastra, maltata, con sentori di cioccolato e finale amarognolo lungo. Corpo medio-pieno, consistenza oleosa, carbonazione soft. Molto buona, ma un po’ sgraziata.

330 ml bottle bought @ Bierkompass.de. Pours dark mahogany brown, almost black, with a creamy brownish white head that slowly dissipates without leaving much trace. Smell is sweet and malty with dark bread, coffee, bitter chocolate, wood, wet earth and hints of smoke, brandy and metal. Taste is sweet, bitter and tiny metallic with roasted malts, wet earth, sweetened coffee, orange zest, plums, raisins, cognac, wood and hints of milk chocolate and liquorice fudge. Mouthfeel is smooth, slightly creamy and full bodied. Finish is bitter and sweet with coffee, chocolate, wood, resin, vanilla and hints of cognac.
