So called because of its truly "ruinous" effect on your palate, this massive hop monster will change forever your preconceptions of what defines good beer. This is Stone IPA's big brother, and we mean BIG. We essentially began with our already-awesome Stone IPA, threw in an extra-large helping of malt, and added a lot more hops. And then some more. And then even more, resulting in a vibrant blast of citrusy bitterness that hits you on the first sip. Just one taste and you'll know why we call this indelicate jewel "A liquid poem to the glory of the hop!"

Very good IPA but I perpetrated the 10th anniversary version. Tangerine and put.e in aroma with some residual malt. Pours cloudy clear orange with ok head and lacing. Finish is crisp bitter, done well for style. As all IPAd thus would probably be better fresher from the source, but i’m sure this is pretty fresh after the Stone tap feature at Blue Monk.

35,5cl bottle at Schouskjelleren. Pours clear dark golden with a white head. Hoppy and fruity aroma with pine, malt, caramel and hints of citrus. Quite sweet and lightly caramelly but with a bitter finish with pine and citrus. Liked it better the first time I tried, I suspect it was a fresher bottle then, but it’s still a nice IPA! Bouteille 22oz. Pours crystal clear golden amber color with a 2 finger dense off white head with incredible retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, orange zest, orange rind, lemon zest, pine, floral, honey, bread, grass, and herbal earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of hop notes. Taste of big grapefruit, orange zest, orange rind, pine, floral, grass, light honey, lemon zest, and piney spiciness. Large amount of floral pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus rind, pine resin, floral, grass, honey, bread, and piney spiciness on the finish for a while. Excellent flavor balance of citrus hop complexity and pine flavors; with big piney citrus bitterness lingering on the finish for a while as expected. Medium carbonation and body; with an extremely sticky, crisp, and slightly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent Imperial IPA. Great intense hop flavor and balance with good complexity; and very smooth to sip on. A highly enjoyable offering.
