So called because of its truly "ruinous" effect on your palate, this massive hop monster will change forever your preconceptions of what defines good beer. This is Stone IPA's big brother, and we mean BIG. We essentially began with our already-awesome Stone IPA, threw in an extra-large helping of malt, and added a lot more hops. And then some more. And then even more, resulting in a vibrant blast of citrusy bitterness that hits you on the first sip. Just one taste and you'll know why we call this indelicate jewel "A liquid poem to the glory of the hop!"

One of the first regularly brewed and bottled imperial IPAs.

Bottle - Pure grapefruit with a mild candy sweetness. Clear orange with a thin and persistent head. Resin and chalky, but so much sweet grapefruit that I can overlook all other issues. Such a decent version on this style a benchmark for all. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy deep golden colour with a big off white head that leaves a fine lacing. Lovely rich grape hoppy and fruity aroma. Full body and rich bitterness. Balanced swetness. Solid caramel malty background with a rich grape hoppy and balanced fruity flavour. Lovely beer.

Bottle from slurp.co.uk, drank June 2012 bottle dated May 2012, I was worried about the dating on the bottle but it was still a awesome hop explosion of a beer. Would I purchase this again? Definitely if you could get it more frequently in the UK, would love to try a fresher bottle. Food Accompaniment: Hoi-Sin Crispy Owl

Poured from 12oz/355 ml bottle into a UK half pint glass at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham - Feb ’12. Pours a hazy orange colour with a good fingers worth of fluffy white head. Hop explosion on the nostrils !!! Lots of pine, citrus, grapefruit and general all round hoppy goodness shooting straight up your nose !!! Very bitter hop flavour on the palate backed up by citrus fruits and a little malty sweetness which teases the mouth in an on / off bitter way. Just the right level of carbonation for a smooth and silky mouthfeel.Excellent IPA, will return to this anytime without hesitation!

Fra flaske på Cardinal, alt for lenge siden: "A liquid poem to the hop". En APA , ikke klass. Ipa , but who cares. Et fantastisk brygg. MÅ prøves på nytt!
