So called because of its truly "ruinous" effect on your palate, this massive hop monster will change forever your preconceptions of what defines good beer. This is Stone IPA's big brother, and we mean BIG. We essentially began with our already-awesome Stone IPA, threw in an extra-large helping of malt, and added a lot more hops. And then some more. And then even more, resulting in a vibrant blast of citrusy bitterness that hits you on the first sip. Just one taste and you'll know why we call this indelicate jewel "A liquid poem to the glory of the hop!"

Bottle at Bishops Arms, Bellmansgatan, February 2012. Orange with a medium fluffy head. Aroma of pine and citrus, on the sweet side. The taste was hoppy with a good bitterness. Very drinkable and rather balanced. A nice DIPA.

355ml bottle. Hazy orange with average creamy frothy white head, good lacing. Nice but not exceedingly intense hop aroma, grassy and fruity notes in equilibrium. Taste is intensive biting hop, fruity middle part, dry finish. Not as good as the regular IPA in my opinion. Maybe some hop power got lost on the journey cross the ocean.

Fruktig sötbesk doft av grape och mango. Rejäl kropp som är ganska söt. Rejäl men inte brutal beska åt grapevitan, tall, recin och lite örter. Fruktigheten försvinner då vilket är lite synd. Vet inte hur färsk den var men den känns som om den inte var superfärsk.

A slightly reddish beer witha medium and blond head. Aroma is tropical fruity, peaches and fructose sweetness, also some citrusfruits. Taste is also fruitfull with tropical fruits, peaches and nice pine needles. Medium+ bodied, nice to drink. Pleasant, fruitfull and good beer.

0.35l bottle from BrewDog webshop. This one pours a light clouded golden-yellow body with a small light creamy and lasting off-white head that's lacing down the glass. Lovely fruity and hoppy aroma; lots of citrus and grape, tropical fruity, pine cones and zesty. Average to lively carbonation level and a slick and oily mouthfeel. Dry-hoppy and quite bitter this one. Malty as well, but mostly hoppy-bitter. Actually on the limit of being soapy towards the finish. Also hints of white sugar and definitely some pine and spruce here. Long long aftertaste. A fine specimen of it's kind, but for me personally a bit to hoppy-bitter. Oh, is it a DIPA? Felt more like a "normal" extreme-bitter IPA for me.

Clear golden beer, nice creamy white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: grassy, pineapple (not sweet), flowery, mango. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: bit fruity, little sweet, peaches, citrus touch, sweet malts, bit of pineapple turning pretty bitter. Aftertaste: dry bitter ending.

Bottle at home, 8th January 2012. Pours with a nice head, slightly cloudy, lovely thick gold colour. Carbonation is light, small bubbles, taste is complex and tasty, sweeter perhaps than some IPAs, but then you remember this is a DIPA, at 7.7 this drinks very well, thick palate, grapefruit and pineapple with piney hops with a lingering bitter after taste. Good one.....

355ml bottle @Maltainen Riekko. Poured slightly hazy golden with a thin white head. Very hoppy, grapefruity aroma with some malty sweetness. Flavor is pine, grapefruit, very bitter piney finish. Almost full bodied.

Smell of hops. Amber colour. High cream-coloured head. Citric. Medium bitter. Still sweet enough. The first IPA I genuinely like, so in your face, BrewDog.

Light orange amber, lot of hop haze, rocky white head that dissipates, reasonable lacing.
Aroma - Big sweet citrus hops, juicy fruits, grassy hops, grapefruit, orange, pine, resin. Complex hop aroma.
Taste - Very very hoppy, lots of citrus hops, sweet, grassy, complex, well blended, alcohol well hidden.
Palate - Moderate carb, medium-to-full body, very bitter strongy tangy but with underlying sweetness. Finish - Intense grassy-citrus hops that eventually clears from mouth.
Very good double IPA, big west coast hop bomb. I prefer the Nogne O IPA though.
