So called because of its truly "ruinous" effect on your palate, this massive hop monster will change forever your preconceptions of what defines good beer. This is Stone IPA's big brother, and we mean BIG. We essentially began with our already-awesome Stone IPA, threw in an extra-large helping of malt, and added a lot more hops. And then some more. And then even more, resulting in a vibrant blast of citrusy bitterness that hits you on the first sip. Just one taste and you'll know why we call this indelicate jewel "A liquid poem to the glory of the hop!"

Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours hazy orange with light orange highlights and one inch off-white head that dies down. Some lacing, medium/heavy body, and very sticky texture. Taste is pine,pine, and more bitter pine. The pine overpowers any other flavors, not a fan.

Bottle at oktoberfest thx to Sten cons 2011-10-22 Göteborg AP: creamy ofwhite head, thick apricot marmelade colored body AR/: caramel, perfume, grass, citrus, grapefuit juice, lemon, soap, havy pine, pineapple and wee tutti frutti PS still have one in my cellar thx Sten

Draught, 7.7%. Sweet hoppy aroma. Cloudy grey yellow colour. The flavour starts off with a distinct teaish note. Becomes a little sweet and then slightly alcohol. Finishes with a distinct but clean bitterness.

Draught @ Moeder Lambic during the Stone vs Moeder Lambic event. Very clear yellow colour with a big white head. Smells hops, bitter, fresh, grassy and lemon. Tastes very bitter, very fresh, very hoppy. Great carbo and a full bitter body.

Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas during the three day Stone Event, 16-18 september 2011. Clear golden color, big creamy white head. Smell so much citrus, so incredibly fruity, very much grapefruit, hops and especially bitter. Tastes the same, very good hops and very very bitter. Great IPA, absolutely love it!

Tasting at beer temple. Clear dark golden pour with tan head. Aroma of citrus and a slight yeast funk. Amazing crisp grapefruit in the flavour

draft@Stone vs. Moeder as Stone Double Dry Hopped Ruination IPA both this and the regular Ruination IPA were both listed separately – I do think that they are different beers despite what ratebeer says – either way: hazy orange with quickly disappearing, smells like grapefruit hops & to a lesser extent pine hops, slightly citrusy sweet, taste is bitter grapefruit & pine hops, this is pretty much pure hops, some slight, slightly sweeter fruity undertones underneath, hint of spices, oranges, malty backbone, pretty good but not as bitter as I thought that it would be, I have had way bitterer beer, incl. from Stone itself

Rather light aroma with hops and exotic fruits. Flavour has fruits and resin. Somewhat too sweet aftertaste and a bit watery for a 7.7% beer. Good and balanced IPA but somehow I expected much more. 7+4+7+3+16 = 3.7
