So called because of its truly "ruinous" effect on your palate, this massive hop monster will change forever your preconceptions of what defines good beer. This is Stone IPA's big brother, and we mean BIG. We essentially began with our already-awesome Stone IPA, threw in an extra-large helping of malt, and added a lot more hops. And then some more. And then even more, resulting in a vibrant blast of citrusy bitterness that hits you on the first sip. Just one taste and you'll know why we call this indelicate jewel "A liquid poem to the glory of the hop!"

Bottle @ Hotelroom, Denver. Pours clear golden with a huge fluffy offwhite head. Aroma of fresh fruit, melon, apples, grapefruit, pine, sweet caramel, hint of cinnamon. Taste bready and caramel malt, grapefruit, pine, resin, sweet fruit angain kiwi and melon. Medium body, soft carbination, lasting but overly bitter finish. Very nice beer, freshness is the keyword, very easy drinking, good stuff. 250211

660ml bottle from Whole Foods Columbus Circle, NYC
Pours orange with a white foamy head. Nice fruity and citrusy aroma. Well balanced IPA with a great long-lasting bitter palate. 8-4-8-4-16 = 4.0
Re-rated on 11.3.2013. 355ml bottle from Alko Arkadia. Enjoy by 03-11-13 - A lot more heavier bitterness than I remembered. Still an extremely well balanced mix of fruits, maltiness and grassy hops. Excellent DIPA for true hopheads.

[Thanks to yngwie] Pours cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of barley, caramel and hops. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Pours orange/amber with a large white lasting head.Nose shows floral, grassy, earthy and resinous hops first, later giving way less complex pine and grapefruit. Underneath is some cookie dough-like malt, plenty of clean sweet crystal and some confectionery-like sweetness.Flavours first consist of loads of sweet clean malt before being quickly overtaken by fruity, piney hops and a overbearing aggressive bitterness.Carbonation is a little high, cuts through the malt too much.

This IPA poured a light, cloudy yellow colour with a bright white, rocky head. To the nose there are scents of spruce, juniper, grass and citrus. Little bit of cheese/dough too. First taste was very hoppy with flavours of bitter citrus and spruce. Very citrusy, lemons.... Finish is bitter with hopps lingering forever.

12 fl oz bottle at VilleValla Pub. Appearance is pale amber with rocky, white medium sized head. The aroma is american hops, citrus, caramel, grapefruit and grass. LOADS of hops. Taste is also very hoppy. Bitter all over and somewhat sweet. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with some fizz. Great IPA for the real hophead.

[6/10] Bottle, 13C. Clear light amber with a small, almost white head. No bead. Ringing pine and grapefruit aroma with a little caramel and galangal. Taste has solid rich toffee (and some peach and maybe almond) underneath pine and citrus. It’s certainly bitter but the malt is a sufficient platform - and that’s the key for me in this style. Finish is bitter, but not harsh. Fruit and spice notes register at the end too. [3.9][1/12] Much colder, about 10C. Slight hazy amber with a lasting white head. Aroma of nectarine, grapefruit, some pine, caramel. Taste has light toffee and nectarines/ peaches before firm bitterness that’s really not much more than balancing given the sweetness. Lovely beer. [3.9] [4/15] A non-deprecated import. Clear pale amber, white head. As before, maybe slightly brighter citrus notes, a little talcy.
