This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. We would suggest that you stick to safer and more familiar territory—maybe something with a multimillion-dollar ad campaign aimed at convincing you it’s made at an independent brewery, or one that implies that their tasteless seltzer / fizzy yellow beer / whatever-the-hell will give you more sex appeal. Perhaps you think multimillion-dollar ad campaigns make all that junk taste better. Perhaps you’re mouthing your words as you read this.

We believe that pandering to the lowest common denominator represents the height of tyranny—a virtual form of keeping the consumer barefoot, stupid & led by the nose social media. Brought forth upon an unsuspecting public in 1997, Arrogant Bastard Ale openly challenged the tyrannical overlords who were brazenly attempting to keep the people chained in the shackles of poor taste. One glance around and it’s glaringly obvious: they’re winning...as of now. Yet we will not stop. Ever. Since the very beginning, Arrogant Bastard Ale has reveled in its unprecedented and uncompromising celebration of intensity. There have been many nods to Arrogant Bastard Ale…even outright attempts to copy it…but only one can ever embody the true nature of Liquid Arrogance! Hated By Many. Loved By Few.

0.5l can. Hopy aroma, pine, flowers. Clear copper color, pale beige head. Hopy taste malty notes, pine, floral notes, high, but pleasant bitter. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation and dry, bitter finish. Very good.

WoW an Arrogant Bastard just popped up right in front of me. And a big waring on the can that I might not like this. Ha ha it is surely a solid lovely brew. Everyone likes this.
A really lovely clear mahogany color with a fine tan head. Looks good and inviting. Fine lacing also. Quite moderate intensity in the aroma. Mostly caramel malt in the nose. Not that inviting. Medium + body and a fine carbonation level. Easy to drink. Not enough sweetness to back up the bitterness. A bit unbalanced actually. Caramel bomb de lux. It actually kills the grapefruit hoppy goodies almost completely. Not good. Also some dried fruit in the flavor.
The warning was right. I did not like this.

Can from Salt Horse (2017) and can from House Of Trembling Madness (2023). Clear ruby body with a beige head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of caramel, honey, Marmite and earth. Flavour of cranberry, stewed tea, milk chocolate, fruit cake and a metallic, bitter finish. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Light fizz. I found this beer to be, frankly, quite boring. I expected much more based on previous reviews. I rated it 3.3 in 2017 and 3.3 in 2023, so it’s probably not one I’ll be drinking again.

Can. Stone Berlin. Thick brownish red. Small but nice and lasting head. The strong aroma of malts bursts out of the can and immediately makes me wanna drink a scotch single malt...malts, dark berries, malts, hops, honey and more malts. Taste is fruity, malty and bitter piney hops. Caramel, raisins, honey and grapefruits. There’s a hint of sweetness beneath the hops overload. Highly carbonated. The aftertaste is extremely bitter and seems to last forever. A very aggressive and equally impressive beer. Complex and full of BAM! I love it but the beer snob elite marketing is childish.

(can, 50cl) Hazy, ruby colour with a firm and mid-sized tanned foamy head. Earthy and mildly fruity hops with shades of resin, accompanied by mildly nutty and sugary malty accents, caramel and yeasty notes. Quite bitter and slightly sweet flavour, full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Dark and nutty cara-malt character with earthy hoppy notes, spruce and pine as well as subtle fruity notes; bitter hoppy and mildly sweet finish with lingering earthy and piney hops, hints of caramel in the aftertaste. Well-embedded alcoholic strength. Superb. 03.XII.16

Can. Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Heavy malty and hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate. Almost as good as expected, and I expected a lot.....World class brew.
