This intense Imperial Stout is defined by its high bitterness from the hops and the sweetness from the malt and alcohol, it creates a good balance which makes Black Hole an explosion of nuances, but also leaves a feeling of a complex beer. Black Hole is what Mikkeller is all about. Daring, vulgar and extreme. From the very beginning Mikkellers goal has been to push the limit and with this warming, intense imperial stout, a new chapter in the Danish beer history has been written.

Black with almost no brown head. Aroma is lots of chocolate, hot chocolate, some coffee, cocoa, dark and temptating, very clean. Taste is intense coffee bitterness, only a little chocolate sweetness, some spicy chili. Oily and heavy. Incredibly intense, very bitter. Black hole is a very fitting name for such a bomb of bitterness.

2nd International Stout Day 2016 Beer. Black color with abeige head, short duration and nice lacework. Aroma has muscatel notes, slightly sweet and roasted malts. Flavor is slightly sweet with hints of white grapes where moscatel notes are more present and in high proportion. Slightly bitterness in the final with hints of coffee beans. Dense and creamy on palate with some coffee notes in the aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy but stable tan head. Clear aroma of rast, mcoffee, fruit and malt. Booze in the long nose. Sweetish flavour of malt and fruit, mwith roasty and coffeelike notes and touches of yeast. Warming alcohol presence. Boozy and roasty afteraste with malty hints. Good. Dangerous, though. My rating #5000. Thanks everyone for taking me this far :-) Ooooooh, I’m halfway there!

Deep brown to black, opaque. Moderate tan to brown head. The aroma is surprisingly floral. Blossom, Melissa. Later coffee beans, lemon come. Earthy. Pepper. Vanilla. Nice. Medium to full body. Oily to thick palate. Complex taste. Coffee, vanilla, port wine, dark fruit. Earth. Light to medium citric bitterness. Oh my goodness. Perfect.

Sysimusta olut kohtalaisella ruskealla vaahdolla. Laadukas olut, jossa maussa alkoholi puskee hieman turhan paljon läpi. Edit 9.5.2021. Wonderful beer, tasty, sweet and enough bit more bitter coffee. This version is quite old one, bbe at the end of 2019.

Bottle from 2012. Pours opaque black, no head, no lacing. Aroma is pretty heavy on molasses, cocoa, tobacco. Flavor is medium sweet, fully bitter, molasses and cocoa. Medium body, truly flat, uninspiring mouthfeel. Pretty boozy.
