Anno 2022 is a strong, golden ale brewed with Okanagan pears and Indian coriander. The beer is bottle conditioned with Brettanomyces claussenii, a strain of wild yeast that adds funky, fruity flavours and slowly develops over time in the bottle, preserving freshness and adding layers of complexity as the beer ages.

Ingredients: Malted barley, wheat, sugar, spices, pears, hops, yeast, water

Hazy pale, yeasty, lightly sweet, hint of pears. Decent but as usual the brett hasn’t kicked in nearly enough maybe this will be the year I age one of these.

On tap at Dageraad. Pours hazy blonde with a white head. Nice dry Belgian yeast profile on the nose with notes of coriander, orange peels, a bit rustic. Flavour has plenty of Belgian yeast character with notes of coriander, dry grass, light bitternesss, some bubblegum. The contribution of the pears get wrapped into the yeast expression. A very pleasant Belgian strong ale.

Poured from 750mL bottle. Feintly hazed blond gold with full white head, sediment. Belgian yeast, nice natural carbonation, soft coriander and spices, enjoying the age on this one.

This is 2024, but it's the same every year, right. Hazy and pale, thin head. The usual pear and coriander nose, light plastic phenols, the palate is similar, with a splash of alcohol in the finish. As usual this beer is released before the brett really has a chance to do its thing.,

[Anno 2024] 220mL pour at the brewery. Pours murky blonde with foamy white head. Light candied sugar, cloves, and herbs on the nose. Flavour has esters, cloves, some light sugar sweetness, followed by bitter herbs. Not particularly exciting, but well-made.

Poured from the tap. Clear yellow gold with small white head. Belgian yeast, booze, touch of pear and coriander. Okay, unbalanced booziness.

On tap at Dageraad, pours a hazy pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out plenty of Belgian yeast esters, alcohol, pears and a hint of coriander. Flavour is sweet and estery, with plenty of pears, Belgian yeast, and light floral notes. A bit boozy and messy but pleasant enough.

Clear gold with a rich white head. Baking spice, bready, pear, peppery and the usual Belgian esters. Much like the nose. Decent but not my cup of tea.
