Cask @Buskers Pub (Rome). Nera, abbastanza densa, schiuma beige media, molto persistente. Corpo medio, carbonazione soft. Capolavoro.

Bottle online from Beers Of Europe. Pours black with a medium sized thick creamy beige head. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, coffee and roasted malts. Taste is the same notes again with added hints of liquorice and brown sugar which is balanced out nicely with roasted malts on the finish. Medium body, low carbonation and smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Very decent Stout. I will have this again.

500 ml flask bottle. Opaque brown color. Fluffy tan head. Great lacing. Lovely roasted malt aroma hints at milk chocolate and forrest floor. Flavor follows nose. Roasted malt, milk chocolate, vanilla and mild charred wood. Medium bodied. Flinty dryness on palate. Finishes with restrained bitterness. Decent.

Tap at Beer&Food Attraction, in Rimini, Italy. Pours deep brown, almost black, with very fine brown foam. Aroma is chocolate and coffee, a little vanilla. Body is average, with moderate carbonation. Taste is medium roasty, a little bitter. Final is average.

Bottle – gift from my brother. Pours almost black with a small, transient, frothy beige head. Plenty of malts and chocolate in the aroma here. In the mouth though it’s the vanilla which hits the taste buds first, swiftly followed by coffee grounds and then chocolate. Whilst roasted malts are underneath there all the time. Finish has sweetness at the front, but bitter hops lurking behind. This is a straight up stout. No gimmicks, but done excellently. Outstanding – and dangerously drinkable !
