Bottle. Pours a clear deep ruby brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice sour red fruit note with some earthy grains and a bit of red wine and oak underlying. Flavor has same nice sour red fruit note with earthy oak and a bread note backing.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours slightly hazy dark reddish brown color with a 2 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big tart cherry, cranberry, raisin, plum, chocolate, toast, balsamic vinegar, oak, hay, grass, leather, musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance of fruity/acidic/funky yeast, dark malt, and oak barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart cherry, cranberry, raisin, plum, chocolate, toast, balsamic vinegar, oak, hay, grass, leather, musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Fair amount of fruity/acidic tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of cherry, cranberry, raisin, plum, chocolate, toast, balsamic vinegar, oak, hay, grass, leather, musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice balance and complexity of fruity/acidic/funky yeast, dark malt, and oak barrel flavors; with a great sweetness/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth and fairly creamy/acidic mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent sour brown ale style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic/funky yeast, dark malt, and oak barrel flavors; and very smooth to sip on with the balanced acidity. A very enjoyable offering.

Tasting at Ferris’
Dark brown color with very large head. Nice aroma, a lot of vinegar, some balsamic, fruits, light armpit. Good body; there is a very nice combination of sweetness and sourness, with a nice fruity touch and ending light astringency.
Excellent.

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out vinegar, tart dark fruits, all sorts of funky critters, and some oak. Flavour is quite complex, with all sorts of funky yeast notes complementing each other, tart dark fruits, oak, and more of the funk. This is extremely well-rounded. Really elegant, with a wonderfully complex yeast profile. Excellent beer - lovely to sip.
