Poured from the tap. Cloudy yellow with slight orange hue and full white head. Very citrusy (lemon and orange), a little Belgian yeast and spice, mild resinous hops. Medium body, alcohol hidden.

Draft - Sweet candy, citrus and yeasty notes. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Fruity and sweet citrus, boozy yeast and a bitter dry finish. Perfumy finish. Not bad.

2014-06-06, draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, 7-3-8-4-17=39
Cloudy bond-orange color. The aroma is mild, fruity, a bit spicy. Full bodied, moderately sweet; malt flavor, but mainly it plays with Seville oranges; the yeast spiciness is well present, and it has a good level of bitterness, with plenty of orange peel oils in the final.
Among Belgian IPAs it’s a balanced and clean one, although it has a lot of character. Compared to the Valiant, there is much more fruity presence here. Very nice.

2013-12-31, bottle from Boundary Crossing, Vancouver, as Valiant, 7-4-7-4-15=37
Cloudy deep blond color with compact head. The aroma is strongly spicy, with some hop fruitiness. Good body strength, with moderate sweetness; strong spicy character, and very strong bitterness.
With character.

650 ml bottle. Pours a hazy amber with medium head. Aromas of grapefruit, toasted malts, and rubber. Flavors of bitter pine and maybe a bit of spice and citrus. Yep, way off balance and I didn’t get the Belgian influence.

650mL bottle, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, citrusy hops, and a slight metallic tone. Flavour brings out Belgian yeast, resinous hops, some slight metallic notes (but not really that bothersome), and some caramel malt. Great balance of IPA and Belgian notes. Definitely one of Dead Frog's best, in terms of complexity. Very enjoyable.
