Subtle aromas of fresh raspberry lead to a well hopped, well balanced IPA. Displaying classic flavors of grapefruit, wood/earthy notes and pine needles, the finish is dry with pleasant bitterness and raspberry notes.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy golden color with compact head. As the ABV suggests, this is not an IPA but an American Pale Ale, dry, lean, well hopped, bitter, with resiny hop quality; and with the raspberry that adds some acidity and woody bitterness, more than fruity flavor, hence a not disturbing in the blend.
Not a bad beer, but not a winning idea either.

Draught at Tap & Barrel, Coal Harbour, Vancouver
Hazy light amber color with creamy head. Light raspberry aroma. Smooth mouthfeel, I even wonder if there is any nitrogen here; dry, with no special beer flavor, and some raspberry juice, disturbing because it’s not very fruity and clashes with the hopping, creating a chicory-like bitterness.
First raspberry IPA for me, hopefully the last.

On tap at Tap & Barrel Coal Harbour, pours a clear bronze with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and some vegetal notes. Flavour is very vegetal but not in too detracting a way, with other notes of bready malt. Simple beer. Not so good.

Draft - Fruity and citrus. Hazy gold with a decent beige head. Bitter grapefruit pith with a jammy raspberry following. Some things should not be mixed.

Hazy amber, small beige head.Salty nose.Vague fruity notes in nose and palate. Not much here except an rather unpleasant hop bitterness. A waste of both time and money, both mine and theirs

Poured from 650mL bottle dated 20/12/2014. I’m quite sure this is the same as Tree "For Pete’s Sake" Raspberry IPA (it even has that name stamped on the back of the bottle). Clear, pale pinkish yellow with white head. Aroma has grapefruit and piney hops, little bit of skunk, not really getting any raspberry. Taste shows a bit of the raspberry, quite fresh, but muted. Piney, resinous hops with the subtle sweet tartness of the raspberries. The flavours don’t really mesh in my opinion.

Hazy brownish-tan. Good citrusy piney hop and a touch of raspberries. Hops, raspberry pure, bit of biscuity malt, bit yeastier than I might like. But it works.
