The Majestic Rooster, unafraid to strut his colours. Proud. His voice clear and strong (maybe a bit annoying if you were hoping to sleep in). When he boldly proclaims his dominion, his entire flock listens, or pretends not to listen. Here is to standing proud, admiring your flock, and proclaiming “cock-a-doodle-do!”

Hops: German Noble Varieties
Yeast: Hoyne Proprietary Lager Strain

On tap at the Bitter Tasting Room, pours a dark copper amber with a small beige head. Nose brings out toasted malt, toasted nuts, and herbal notes. Flavour brings out earthy malts, toasted nuts, and light herbal notes. Quite well-balanced actually, with a nicely herbally, toasted nut finish. Decent bock.

Draught at Darby’s Public House, Vancouver
Dark amber color, clean, with small creamy head. Very mild aroma, some caramel and apple. Good body structure, although the mouthfeel is rather dry; caramel flavor with a roasted nut accent; correct bitterness; the final is a bit bready.
More Amber Ale than Bock, not enough malt or caramel.

650 ml bottle. Bought from 16th St Liquor store. Light malt aroma with hints of toffee. Nice orange brown appearance. Full head but quick to dissipate. Light malt flavor, sweet with medium hop finish. Basic but quite drinkable.

Brown, large beige head. Neutral nose.Somewhat phenolic malt profile, noticeable hop finish. Lacks body and sweetness for style. As well the antiseptic/band aid phenols don’t help !!
