250 ml bottle sampled Oct. 2015. Clear deep amber body with a small and fast disappearing beige head. Strong malty aroma with caramel, toast and dry fruit. Flavor is quite sweet, moderate roasted dark malt with caramel, dry fruit and a pleasant light sign of oxidation. The sweet malt is making a good balanced with alcohol instead of bitter hops as this is rather low. The sweetness is not overwhelming and the alcohol is not boozy, just warming. One year old this beer feels very close to a Barley Wine, especially with the hint of oxidation. Full bodied and long lasting warming aftertaste. A nice sipper that actually also feels quite easy drinkable.

250mL bottle, pours a dirty opaque burgundy / brown with a medium beige head. Nose is quite sweet, with lots of caramel, toffee, dark fruits, and brown sugar. Flavour is thankfully not too sweet at all, with a harmonious balance of caramel, English toffee, toasted bread, and light stone / dark fruits. What was hinted at in the nose didn't transpire in the flavour in terms of sweetness, so that's good. ABV is well-masked and all the flavours are integrated beautifully. A great strong ale.

Bottle, 25cl. An unclear, orangey brown beer with a small, dense, dark beige head that lasts. The aroma has a faint perfumed touch, with oranges, caramel maltyness and a distinct touch of Belgian brune, with the same yeast and dried fruit touch. Hints of chocolate and alcohol. The flavor has the same caramel sweetness, dried fruits and yeast I noticed in the aroma. A nice bitterness deals with the sweetness. Full body, lighlty warming, but the alcohol is actually well hidden. Lasting finish with lots of flavor. Sure a beer I hope will be available when Christmas is getting close. 140526

Brewed 26.03.14, bb 26.03.18, batch 1152
Dark amber color, hazy, with medium sized head. Nice aroma, nuts and fruits, caramel. It has a medium body strength, moderate sweetness, nice malt flavor with raisins, and hint of chocolate; correct bitterness; the alcohol is well managed, not too evident, and there are some sweet nuts in the final.
Very nice.

Bottle - Piney hops and a rich caramel base with some light spice. Cloudy dark brown with a rich white head. Lots of toffee and nice hoppy bitterness and a touch of cocoa. Rich and malty.
