On tap at Dragonmead, pours a deep dark mahogany / reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out earthy notes and crusty bread. Flavour is quite dirty and bitter, with bready malt, earthy notes, and a strange tartness permeating throughout. Doesn't seem quite right.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear deep amber red with a dark brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has lots of bread and straw with grains supporting. Flavor has lots of bread and earthy grains backing.

Draft - Grainy dark malts and some toffee. Deep clear caramel with a good beige head. Grainy, toasted malts and caramel. More like a weak bitter, still decent.

Cask at Graydon’s Crossing, Grand Rapids. Murky red-orange-brown body, thin creamy head. Nose primarily of bready yeast with hints of raisin. Body soft, creamy with toast, grapes, and hints of raisin. Thin woody finish. Unusual; complex but scattered.

Poured up via nitro tap at the Dragonmead brewpub with clear amber body and firm tan head. The aroma has notes of sweet malts, spiciness and earthiness that don’t really come together too well. The taste is smooth and mild with a mix of sweet malts and roasted malts and finishing with a sense of citrus hops and faint earthiness. For being so mild in flavor this Mild is pretty tasty.

2004 hand pump. Looks wonderful for a mild, chocolate brown with some bright red tinges peeking through and a good light tan head. Smells clean and lightly chocolatey/nutty with a hint of soily hops. Flavor is very light and mild (surprise!). I feel like I’m working in a mine in England and drinking this stuff on my lunch break, per tradition. It sure does taste authentic. Clean, light nuttiness and fruitiness. Light bodied, watery but true to style.
