Our Hop Ottin’ IPA is brewed and dry-hopped with copious amounts of Columbus and Cascade. This beer is a showcase of the bright citrusy aromas, bold grapefruit and pine-like flavors, and resiny bitterness that hop heads crave. With a brilliant, deep amber color and solid malt backbone, hints of citron, roses, and bergamot peak with a dry, herbal finish in this well-balanced interpretation of a West Coast IPA.

355 ml bottle from bierzwerg.de. Light amber, clear body with medium off-white head. Aroma is grapefruit, citrus, caramel malts and floral/resiny hops. Taste is dry with medium bitterness. Balanced flavour with appropriate bitterness that sticks around just long enough. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Ok IPA, but I think that my bottle was a little bit old. No bottling date/best before on the bottle though.

Re-rate 11/28/11: Bottle sample at a tasting at Dagan’s place. Thanks troubles. Clear amber color. Aroma of malt and pretty stale hops. Sweet caramelly flavor with a more bitter finish. Medium-bodied. OK but seems old. 6/3/6/3/13=3.1

[3/2/11] Bottle at Beer Temple in Amsterdam. Hazy orange-amber color with a big white head. Piney hops, some caramel and citrus in the aroma. Flavor has light grainy notes and a bit of malty sweetness, a bit of cardboard and a bitter hoppy finish with pine and a bit of grapefruit. Medium-bodied. A decent IPA. 7/3/7/3/14=3.4

Bottle at the Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Clear amber beer, good white head. Softish palate, a little dry and a little creamy. Rich hops, dark orange and pine and spice. Creamy malt base. Some hop bitterness in the aftertaste. Just a very nice beer that hangs together very well. Sum of the whole and all that!

Purchased as part of a mix & match sampler at Trader Joe’s, enjoyed on a Saturday night watching Boardwalk Empire. Appearance is a somewhat clear amber with a huge, frothy white head. Aroma of hops, lemongrass, grapefruit, also a bit of citrus. Very nice. Taste is actually a bit metallic, I’m wondering if it’s an older bottle? Very potent metallic with a definite hop flavor, very bitter, almost too bitter for my liking. I’ve had this before and enjoyed it, hopefully I just got a bad batch or something.

(bottle, 35.5cl) Hazy, amber colour with a mid-sized and slightly tanned foamy head. Lemon-fruity hoppy aroma with exotic and piney accents on a cara-malty background. Bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a soft carbonation. Mildly cara-malty base with rich hop flavours, including notes of lemon, pine and an exotic fruity touch; dry and bitter finish with a good dash of aroma hops. Nice but I expected it heavier. 17.XII.10

bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear golden colour, large and creamy head. Floral-citrusy hoppy nose. Full-bodied, solid malty bacground with lots and lots of floral-resiny and mainly citrusy hops. The malty base is not too sweet, the hops come through beautifully. Lingering hoppy finish.
