Like a fine port, Old Stock Ale is intended to be laid down. With an original gravity of over 1.100 and a generous hopping rate, Old Stock Ale is well-designed to round out and mellow with age. It’s brewed with classic Maris Otter malt and Fuggles and East Kent Goldings hops, all imported from England.

2014 bottle from Jonno for my birthday. Cheers! Aroma is marzipan, dark fruit, nutty, light booze. Taste is good, subtle, fruity again, nuts again. No hint of booze, which is a little scary. Rich and fruity. Tasty.

Bottle, 2004 version. Porto aroma with raisin. Malty with strong port-like flavors. Vinous and raisinny. Alcohol is noticeable, but fairly well hidden. Comparable with an old Chimay if it had less alcohol.
