Bottle from McPhee, Port Angeles, WA
Black color. The infection is evident from the aroma, and flavor, very bad; the underlying Baltic Porter is hidden.
Undrinkable.

22 oz. bottle, pours a near-black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of cocoa nibs upfront, followed by a little ass (yes, really) and some herbal / vegetal notes. Flavour is unusually acidic and lightly tart for the style - this is nastily infected. Shame, as I can see this being good regularly. As is, this is a drain pour.

Bottle thanks to glkaiser! Pours clear ruby black with a small brown head that dissipates quickly with nice lacing. Aroma is roasty, anise o’plenty, herbal and roots. Flavor is anise, roasty chocolate, light sweet and medium bitter. Medium body, a bit acidic. I am guessing this is good for the style, I just can’t get into the style for the most part.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours dark brown/black with ruddy glints and a slight tan head. Aromas of dark fruit, burnt malt, and maybe coffee. Full bodied or close enough. It’s slightly salty, has pretty dark fruit, burnt malt, and perhaps a hint of coffee. It’s not on the dry side in the finish, but it’s not all that sticky sweet either. There’s a nice almost bitter tang in the finish. Arguably well within style.
