Our interpretation of the Scottish Export style is coppery amber in color and features a mild, malty aroma. The malty flavor is balanced with Willamette hops to add a little "snap" to the flavor and finish of this rich ale.

On tap @ Kick. Slightly unclear reddish amber with a nice, dense tan head. Aroma has fruit, berries and a hint of butterscotch. Flavor has smooth toffee, fruity/berry like aroma and the same butterscotch, not much bitterness. Fine body and average aftertaste where the butterscotch becomes a bit dominating. A decent beer more than less destroyed by butterscotch, still far from undrinkable and not directly unpleasant at all in smaller amounts. A bit weird.

Bomber from Bertβs Growler Garage. Not as "dirty" or earthy as others in this style, picking up more sweetness. Also realized itβs well past its shelf life (ex. 11.29.14, thank you Pelican for dating your beers!), but its held up very well. Will have to try again fresh. Caramel and some toffee, light bodied.

Draft pour at Bambinos. Pours a dark red color with little to no head. Very mellow tasting scotch ale with some nice, calm malt flavors and some spice. A nice, balancing, yet light hop presence to round of the finish. Nice caramel like flavor throughout as well. Kind of a stand out scotch ale for me. Very tasty and drinkable. Good beer here.

Draft - Caramel and dark grains. Clear amber with a thin white head. Taste is very grainy with a bit of caramel. The hops impart a slight bitterness, but overall this beer is very muted and plain.

On tap at the brewery. Malt aroma and flavor are both mild here. Surprised by the restraint. Clear caramel color with a white head. Very muted for the style.
