Brewed with malt grown and malted by our friend and artisan maltster, Mike Doehnel. A true showpiece for Mike’s malt, as no other malts we used in the grist. A complex fermentation delivers layers of fruit and spice to this deceptively-drinkable tribute to the Belgian monastic brewing tradition.

650mL bottle, pours a clear golden (totally filtered) with a medium white head. Aroma brings out yeast, light pears, and a touch of candied sugar. Flavour brings out loads of Belgian yeast, booze, and a touch of candied sugar. Quite boozy for an 8%, with a very low complexity. Not very refined or elegant in any way. Nothing offensive, but not very skilled. A miss from Driftwood.

650 ml bottle. Pours a clear gold with light head. Aromas of lemon, coriander, honey, and light malts. Flavors are similar and very nicely balanced with additional notes of resin and spice. Sharp bitter finish.
