Here at Alley Kat we are always experimenting with new styles, techniques and ingredients. 2013’s Summer Squeeze was one such experiment that our loyal fans just could not get enough of. So we’ve taken our Summer Squeeze and made it our Main Squeeze by adding it to our core line up of beers.

Clear slightly pink pour, with no head. Aroma of, well.....grapefruit, and its not that artificial either......not bad. Soft carb, slightly watery mouth feel. The finish is where this goes off the rails. The flavour and aftertaste smack of fake artificial bitter flavourings.......tastes like a laboratory. Bitter and pithy, bordering on undrinkable.

Grapefruit comes together for a just drinkable beer like radlers. Some malt backbone. Pours golden with ok head and lacing. Light tangy finish. Tap at brewery.

341 ml bottle. Pours a clear, golden with a thin, short-lived white head. Massive grapefruit aroma. Sweet grapefruit flavour and grain with a dry, bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation.

On tap at Alley Kat, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Nose brings out juicy grapefruit. Flavour is clean, with loads of grapefruit and floral notes. Very clean and pleasant.

Draught @ National. Light copper-amber, not much head, aroma is massive fresh grapefruit...quite appetizing and a real statement of intent. Sweetish, again with lots if refreshing grapefruit character and a basic amber malty backbone. Solid fruit ale.

Draft - Huge grapefruit on the nose, just like cutting one open and holding to your nose. Clear pale yellow with a thin head. Taste is very bland, not nearly enough flavor that is advertised with the nose. Light citrus fruit and very light. I can understand why the masses like this so much, easy drinking and doesn’t taste like beer. I would rather drink grapefruit juice.
