Armed with an arsenal of Cascade, Chinook, and Mosaic hops, Battlewagon is a smooth-bodied Double IPA that charges forth with floral and pine aromatics. A heavy malt presence and Savannah Bee Co. wildflower honey balance out the earthy pine, sweet orange and grapefruit pith notes. Cloaked in WW1-era "dazzle" camouflage, this DIPA's complex design is ready for battle

Slightly hazy copper coloured body with a bronze glow and a nice, three to four centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, resin, pine, grass, caster sugar and a bit more pungency from the hops and alcohol warmth. Medium-bodied; Biting astringency up front with a lot of pine, resin and some tropical fruits around along with more of a herbal bite near the end, a ton of alcohol and bitterness and a dash of fruit. Aftertaste is much more on the bitter side than anything else, but some light sweetness and a dose of grass/dryness near the end compliments the alcohol and bitterness which are the largest players here. Overall, a decent enough Imperial IPA with some good flavours and nice smooth complexity, for the style, especially. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from GrapeVine in Fort Mill, South Carolina on 21-August-2017 after watching the Eclipse, sampled at home in Washington on 13-September-2017.

Pours a clear copper/amber from a can. Big citrus and pine aroma continues in the mouth with a pretty hefty malt backbone. Fades into some rather big bitterness. Good beer.
