Nuttercup Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter

Can. Dark brown in color with a tan head. Aroma is peanuts and chocolate. Taste is peanuts, chocolate and roasted grains. I like it.

from a can. pour is very dark brown, almost black. smell is all peanut butter, the nose actually makes my mouth water! first taste is peanut butter laced dark beer. can't really tell if its porter or not. unlike most pastry beers, this is not cloying and is a little easier to take. yea, you can tell the alky content in this one. in the middle a little bit of burnt bitterness starts to set in. becomes a somewhat more awkward towards the finish. ends with a satisfying effect of peanut butter on dark beer. i got a case of 24 of these for about $9; that's 38 cents a can. so, i guess it ain't so bad for the price. but it ain't the best peanut butter beer i've had. can't live up to the The DeCider Presidential Peanut Butter or the Beaver Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout.

Can. Blackishbeer with a tan head. Roast peanut and chocolate aroma. Nutty flavor with light chocolate and light caramel. Medium bodied. Nuttiness lingers with light chocolate and light caramel.

Draft at Oviedo Brewing. Pours dark brown/black with tan head. Aromas of peanut butter and chocolate. Roasted malt flavor with peanuts and chocolate. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce can into pint glass, no can dating. Pours crystal clear dark brown color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, herbal, pepper, pine, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, peanut butter, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, herbal, pepper, pine, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate pine/herbal/spicy hop and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, toasted dark/brown bread, smoke, char, herbal, pepper, pine, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, peanut butter, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a nice roast/hop bitter/sweet balance. Some lingering acrid/astringency, but not too overwhelming. Smooths out through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is good. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is a great flavored American porter! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, peanut butter, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink, despite the fairly aggressively bitter/acrid/drying finish. Very rich and well rounded porter malt complexity with balanced authentic PB flavors; and balancing earthy hops. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

12 oz can. Opaque very dark brown pour with a small beige head and decent retention. Good lacing. Strong peanut butter nose. The taste has dark bitter baker's chocolate and light coffee flavor with limited peanut butter notes. Dry finish. Not as sweet as I hoped. The 6.5 ABV is well hidden. Decent, but not nearly as good as DuClaw's Sweet Baby Jesus.

Can. Chocolate, peanut butter, biscuit malt, and light hay aroma. Black with large brown head. Mildly sweet peanut butter, chocolate malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Good body. Nice.

Can: Rubied-black with a thick, light tan head. Reese’s Cup aroma.....roasty peanut butter and dark chocolate. Taste is strongly bitter.....smoked peanut husks, dry, bitter chocolate. From the scent, you’d expect it to be hugely sweet, but instead it comes across as terribly over-cooked..... Disappointing, overall.
