This is a true brown, not only because if its color but because of its stringent
adherence to the style guidelines; a real beer connoisseurs dream. The hop
flavor and aroma is adequately full and assists the roasted malt flavors that are

Can. Cocoa malt, wood ash, and hay aroma. Dark chestnut brown with large tan head. Moderately sweet chocolate, toasted bread malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Good body. Very tasty.

Can: Pours reddish-brown with a thick tan head. Roasty caramel malt, cola aroma. Caramel malt, cola, nuts, a little cocoa in the flavour. Not overly sweet.....decent body. A pretty darn solid brown.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 7/15/2015. Pours slightly hazy deep reddish brown color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/chocolate/coffee, herbal, light dark fruit, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop/yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/chocolate/coffee, herbal, light dark fruit, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nutty/chocolate/coffee, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. damn nice robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop/yeast ester flavors; with a great bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is a damn nice American brown ale style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light earthy hop/yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

12 oz bottle poured. Pours dark with very little head. Sweet malty aroma. Flavor is a little on the sweet side, a little caramel, and a little nutty late. Overall one of the better tasting brown ales I’ve had in a while. Drinks nice. Good beer.

Bottle. Pours clear chestnut, small tan head, little lacing. Aroma is nutty caramel, toffee, grass. Flavor is the same, nutty, malty, medium sweet, little bitterness present. Some astringence, however, and a bit of a chemical aftertaste. Medium body.

Bottled. A red-brown beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and nuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, wet hay, and chocolate, leading to a dry finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden deep amber to brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty and breadish. Thick malty, liqourice to breadish dark roasted. Bitter and towards light herbal finish.

Pours a darker brown with mid-sized head. Roasted malt and hop aromas. Flavor is almost a touch on the sour side. There are coffee and roasted malt flavors, too, but undercut by this weirdly sour note (maybe I got a bad bottle?).
