Exuberant tropical fruit aroma leads to juicy grapefruit, pineapple and citrus flavors. This beer is a prime example of a San Diego IPA with pale straw color, restrained malt character, a bone dry finish, and loads of hops from first wort to dry hop. Hops: Chinook dominant, with supporting roles played by Amarillo, El Dorado, CTZ & Hull Melon.

Can from Beer Republic, at 8.5%, canned on 06/28/17 so 4.5 months old now, 16 oz sample. Clear golden color, short frothy head. Aroma of grassy and flowery hop, together with some sweet candy maltiness. Same goes for flavor, grassy bitterness, sweet candy. Tickling bitterness on the tongue. Pretty heavy still, even though the malt is quite clean and not caramel heavy, like most Dutch brewers would do. --- Beer merged from original tick of Pizza Port Kook Double IPA on 14 Nov 2017 at 23:23 - Score: 8

Fairly hazy golden and raw honey coloured body with a nice golden glow and a dash of apricot and peach coloured tints along with a thick, three centimetre tal off-white head. Aroma of bright grassy and citrusey hops along with some biscuity malt backbones, coupled with a larger yeast smell than expected and the alcohol you expect. Medium-bodied; Assertive dry and very herbal flavours with a big dose of grapefruit and citrus bitterness and hop flavours coupled with some more astringent notes that have a lot of pungency and ending with some alcohol warmth throughout. Aftertaste shows the bitterness front and centre with a good malt backbone and balance and ending with a dry and slightly sweet flavour of the apricots and peaches along with a dash of floral and pure resinous hops coming through at the very tail end. Overall, a pretty well-balanced Imperial IPA with a nice complexity towards the end and a lot of dry, citrusey and resinous flavours and a good bit of alcohol as well. Nice to try, and even though this would have been a VERY enjoyable beer on the island, this was nice to literally bring it around the world and have it at home! I sampled this sixteen ounce can purchased from the Turnpike Shell Gas Station (which sadly I discovered on the way to the airport) in Hagatna, Tamunig, Guam [USA] and brought literally around the world back to home in Washington and sampled on 28-October-2017.

hazy golden colour, around one inch dense off-white head; aroma of pine resin, mango, grapefruit, tropical fruits and grassy notes, as well as some alcohol; taste of intensive hoppy bitterness and malty-syrupy sweetness with pine, tropical fruits and dill; good one

Lata 50 cl en Cimmeria agosto 2016. Embotellado 25..04..2016. (r250). Intensos sabores afrutados con toques herbáceos y ligeramente cítricos. Dulces maltosos. Cuerpo medio algo espumoso y cierta densidad. Bastante buena para repetir sin duda.

Sampled from the tap at the OB location. Pours as clear yellow with a white head hat dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a combination of flora, resin, sweet citrus and a sweet grain note backing. Flavor has a good amount of resin and sweet citrus with a bit of pine and a sweet grain backbone.

16oz can pours with a clear gold body that supports a dirty white head of foam. The aroma offers up grapefruit, orange peel, some pine hops and then a light note of malt infused floral hops. The taste delivers a quick hit of tangerine and grapefruit hop flavor that quickly gives ground to bitter citrus hops, bitter and near resiny pine hops and thin bitter floral hoppiness. Toward the finish the pine hops take on a thin resiny candy sappy hoppiness that is a little annoying. Pretty decent IIPA.

Very good beer. In this case the resiny, Piney hops play off very nicely against the prominent caramel malt

(Can, 0.473 l - canned 25/10/2016, from Alus Celle, 20170313) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had pine, pineapple, malts and caramel. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were pine, sweetness, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, sweet and bitter. The age shows but still a good hoppy brew.

Canned. Punavuori tasting. Canned on 25.10.2016. Thanks mjs. Canned fruits, pineapples in aroma. Caramelly malts. Golden color, thick white head. Flavor has ripe fruits, hops, malts, caramel sweetness. Aged, but still drinkable.
