Chocolate, oat malt, hay and ash aroma. Dark black with small head. Mildly sweet chocolate oatmeal malt and mildly bitter dry hay and wood ash flavor. Good body. A nice beer.

Bottle from Consumers Beverages. Dark brown. Roasted malts, coffee, coffee milk, oats, some fruitiness. Slightly sweet.

On tap at the brewery. Deep mahogany with a thin cream head; oaty aroma; soft, sweet, grainy body; with a dry caramel finish. Pleasant, but not particularly oaty.
