‘Helles’ is the German word for bright, and it’s the perfect way to describe this light, golden, and refreshing beer. German Noble hops create a distinct spicy, fresh hop character, and are complemented by a touch of malt sweetness for a drinkable yet flavorful brew. Capture it before the season slips away like the golden hour of a summer evening.

Pours a golden amber from a bottle. Not much of an aroma, somewhat grassy. Flavor is more of a honey and lemongrass with a light grass aftertaste. Good beer.

Respectable take on a no-frills style, giving up moderate toasted grain and grassy sweetness on top of firm, floral Noble hops. Modest lager esters add a bit of depth, and a salty/bready note in the finish complements the mildly bitter fade. Pour is absolutely beautiful, and the texture feels about right for summer beer. Nose is lacking, but otherwise we’ve got a perfectly acceptable lager.

Bottle: Lightly hazed, light golden-yellow with a small white head. Lemon, grain malt aroma. Flavour is a hint of lemon-peel, citrus...grain malt. Simple, but satisfying.....mild grassy bitter. A pretty solid-to-style offering.
