The Wit was brewed on an authentic Belgian yeast strain (the same one used for our Tripel). Plenty of spicy yeast flavor blends nicely with actual spices added during the boil. We dosed this brew with a healthy amount of crushed coriander as well as dried orange peel for a distinct, refreshing aroma and flavor. One third of the malt bill is made up of wheat, which gives this beer a crisp, slightly tart flavor.

Bottle. Lemon, coriander, wheat biscuit malt, and straw aroma. Hazy dark yellow with small head and moderate effervescence. Moderately sweet lemon, biscuit malt, and mildly bitter coriander/hay flavor. Okay body. Decent.

Bottled as Winter White. $2.29 bottle from Total Wine - West Richmond. Pours golden with a small off-white head. Aroma of coriander, grasses, bubblegum. Flavor is quite sweet up front: fruity and juicy with spices including clove. Coriander, orange peel, perhaps cinnamon. Tasty!

Location: 12 oz bottle from Norm's, 4/13/12

Aroma: The nose has yeast, a mix of spices, some lemon/citrus, and a little bit of banana
Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy golden-orange color with a small white head and spotty lace
Flavor: The taste is mid-sweet, with a light bitterness, and components that are very similar to the nose
Palate: The body is medium, with a fairly clean and refreshing feel, and some creaminess on the mouth
Overall Impression: Representing the RIC! I think this is the first time I've seen Legend outside of the Richmond Metro Area, and that is a good thing, as I've been a fan of their beers since way back in my days in Richmond. I'm sure I've had many, many of their beers well before my RB days, and Legend brown will always be my hometown micro, so nostalgia may cause my Legend scores to be a bit high (not intensionally). Anyway, that was a long winded way of saying don't discount my rating for this one. I thought this one was a great example of the style. It hit on all of the components, that I was looking for, and I couldn't find any real issues with it. An excellent, on-style Wit.

Hazy blonde coloured body with a nice white head and tons of small bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of wheat, honey, curacao, coriander seed and a great sweet scent. Medium-bodied; Nice mellow taste of coriander seed and honey with some floral qualities-very nice! Aftertaste super clean and a subtle spicey character follows behind. Overall, a damn good white - one of the best I’ve had - definitely worth trying if you can find it! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 04-July-2005.

Bomber from Wine Warehouse. Are they really comparing their beer to Gatorade? Wow Hazy orange color with a quickly disappearing head. Very spicy bubblegum aroma. Some slightly astringent notes. Yeasty wheat taste with very strong spice. Some citrus and banana as well. Very effervescent.

Draft at Legend brewery: Creamy lemon aroma. Milky gold pour with a thin head, good lacing. Tastes of banana creme pie and coriander. Wheat grain finish, with more pronounced dough and hop notes when warm. Delightful and refreshing!

I was less impressed by this Legend brew then I have with other ones they have done. This one was pretty good, with banana, orange, and spice flavors and aromas, and it was refreshing, but something in the palate just didn’t sit right with me this time.
