On tap at bittercreek boise. Pours out a pale straw topped with a white head. Nose is nice light cereal toast malts some grassy earth hops. Taste is more of the mellow balanced grain and hops.

Draft. Milk, lemon-berry, biscuit malt, and straw aroma. Hazy golden yellow with small head. Moderately sweet creamy/fruity biscuit malt, and mildly bitter straw flavor. Excellent body/blending. Absolutely delicious - would drink this daily if I could.

Draught at Deep Ellum, 8/4/16.
Very minimally hazy, blonde-golden body with a shade of darker maize. White head atop is small and shows moderate retention.
The nose offers up a strong hoppiness, tons of fresh cut grass, light, fresh herbs and bits of pepper. Very bright, aromatic and with no flaw whatsoever. The malt is light, delicate and adds soft honey and very light, warm, baked white bread. It combines to provide a balanced (though tending hoppy), crisp, hoppy golden ale of sorts with no alcohol noted. Not terribly full of house character, perhaps just a touch of mineral, but that’s ok, it’s no doubt been lagered properly and the hops probably mask a lot of the ester profile.
In the mouth the hops assert themselves, but aren’t overdone (it’s tough to overdo noble hops). Fresh grass, herbs and lush greenery signify some version of hallertauer, most likely. The body shows proper (high) attenuation, mostly tight carbonation and a malty, yet cracker-like, at times texture. Not quite as malty soft as I’d like, though a kolsch is going to be very crisp, dry and sparse on the malt, so it seems pretty appropriate here. Maybe a touch waxy on the finish, but in phenomenal condition for an imported zwickel, with no doughy yeast notes or off flavors. Pepper and grass linger pleasantly and crisply on the finish, with light honey-like sweetness, as well.

Draft at Post! - Boise. A Keller version of their traditional Kolsch? No, a straight up a zwickel. Hazy golden pour capped with a short creamy head. Gentle aroma and taste favor the bready, grainy malt bill, nary a hop to be found. Smooth, velvety texture, really delicious, perfect on this warm summer day. This type of beer makes me miss Germany more and more.
