Light-bodied and refreshing, Kentucky Race Day Session IPA is the ideal aromatic, citrusy brew to sip on at a full day at the races or on the golf course. Dry hopped with Hallertau hops from a traditional German hop-growing region sacred to many brewers, as well as Cascade hops from America’s Yakima Valley, this IPA is fruity, spicy and citrusy and can stand the test of a long day.

Draft at Just Tapp’d, clear straw color with trace of white head. Faint pine aroma, medium body, salty hops taste and finish. Pedestrian.

Bottle from Total Wine, West Richmond. Pours clear pale golden, small white head. Aroma of light citrus, heavy cardboard. Flavor is the same. Lots of cardboard - not corrugated, but the flat sheets that separate stuff. Hints of orange maybe? Too faint to describe.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from One Stop Market. Appearance is clear golden yellow with slight orange tinge, fair sparkle with 1/2 finger-width fizzy white head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is grains, hay, basement/barnyard funk. Taste is cracker/biscuit malt, with mild tart and bitterness. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, lively carbonation and dry, lightly bitter finish. Overall, the only vestige of hops is the bitterness--no contribution to nose or flavor. As was mentioned earlier, this tastes more like a malt liquor or cheap macro lager, and not a good one at that.

12 ounce bottle. Bright honey gold color. Small fluffy white head. Faint grainy malt nose. Flavor is grainy with salty notes. Some bitterness. Nothing special.

Bottle. Biscuit malt, light lemon and straw aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Lightly sweet lemon, very light biscuit malt, and mildly bitter orange peel flavor. Very light body. At the very least, there are no off flavors in this - it’s slightly better than a typical macro pale lager.

Bottle: Clear gold with a short, thick, white head. Lemongrass, grain aroma. Taste is just a bit spicy....a tad metallic.... Grain malt, lemon, herbal hops. Comes across like a mediocre lager/APA.....a little watery......if not for a little peppery brightness it would have been a scratch..... Just ok.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a golden-caramel color with a medium sized foamy white head that left no lacing. The aroma was faintly tart with a fruity hop note. The flavor was cracker, bread and pepper with a mild floral hop note. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

Tap at Draught 55 using this flight to up Kentucky ticks. Ugly dirty gold pour small head. Nose is burnt caramel and grains. Tastes of light malt, lemon, grainy and metallic. Thin weak body. Overall this is bitter fizzy water.
