Mead is an ancient wine that predates written language. From the mountains of West Virginia, our seasonal honey and spring water combine to produce this traditional sweet drink. This mead is produced with fall honey from Goldenrod and Aster flowers. It is aged two years before bottling. Sweet dreams of honey-filled streams!

Bottle at the RateBeer DC Cider tasting. Poured a slightly hazy light yellow color. Aroma was honey, light floral character. Flavor was semi-sweet, boozy floral honey notes.

Bottle at the RateBeer DC Cider tasting. Hazy whitish yellow. Aromas of honey, caramel. Tastes of honey, caramel, light floral notes. Light body with a dry and syrupy finish.

750ml bottle pours a muddy gold with no head. Light legs. Nose has honeycomb, heavy flowers, dandelions and chrysanthemums, mild booze, some candlewax. Flavor is sweet, but quite earthy at the same time, honey obviously, honeycomb, some lemoncurd, hints of spice. Full, coating finish. Pretty good though.

From a bottle at the RB cider tasting December 2016. Thanks Jason! Pours a hazy pale gold with a scant head. Honey aroma. Flavors of honey and hibiscus. Cloyingly sweet.

Refrigerated 75 cl green bottle poured into a glass. Bright hazy yellow with no head, no carbonation, medium body, and no lacing. Aroma is sweet pollen and taste is sweet rich honey, tart citrus, some herbal, and some pollen. Complex and one of the best WV meads I have had.

Bottle (courtesy of weihenweizen, obviously). Herbal/floral honey and orange aroma. Slightly hazy pale yellow. Very sweet citrus, honey, and herbal floral hay flavor. Nice body. Slight acidic finish. Very sweet but delicious.
