Tax Holiday is a full-bodied,reddish-amber Christmas ale. Chocolate rye creates a rich and spicy malt profile, while Hunter’s farm Buckwheat Honey provides deep color, sparkling dryness and subtle notes of molasses. A blend of Pacific Gem and Saaz hops contribute warm but balanced fruit and oak flavors on the back of the palate. Ringing in at 10.2% ABV, Tax Holiday will be the perfect beer to warm up with on a cold winter’s night.

12oz can from Tavour. Dark brown pour with a thin, silky layer of beige foam. Malty aroma, honey, sweet, hint of booze. Honey comes out in the taste, sweetness, but is well balanced; malty, woody, raisins. Plenty of warmth leaves a nice afterglow. So smooth, so tasty and very well balanced.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear tho dark mahogany with a nice tan creamy head. Aroma of dark fruit, rye and some Christmas spice. Med plus body. Flavor is not dry, but not sticky. Heat has to be sought for. Some grass/spice. Bitter enough. Good concoction.

tap at Books & Brews in Carmel - Pours clear amber with a light tan head that laces well. It has a malty, boozy aroma with dark fruit, especially cherries. The flavor is sweet and malty with caramel, dark fruit, alcohol, and a bit of spice. Very good.

Bomber, by way of a trade. 10%. Dark copper colour. Soft haze. Thin, super sticky, lasting, beige head. Nice and leggy. Nose has demerara sugar. Raisins. Dark honey. Toasty, granary malts. Some yeasty esters. Ripe banana and the like. Taste is sweet and vinous. Some estery dryness. Soft, smooth mouthfeel. Never feels 10%. Not by a mile. There’s a vinous, yeasty dryness to this, with a lip sticking sweetness that stays throughout. Nice one.
