A real pleasant, well balanced beer. Highly drinkable with a sound malt portfolio with a moderate amber richness and depth of flavor. Willamette variety Hops from Gorst Valley were used in this brew because they are known for their woody, earthy & pleasant flavor accents.

12 ounce can, 8/18/18. Hazy amber, large dense foamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel, floral hops. Taste is caramel malt and not much else. Mild citrus hops in the finish. Medium bodied, crisp. It seems fresh at least.

Bottle. Caramel malt and light weedy hay aroma. Amber with moderate head. Sweet caramel malt and moderately bitter quinine/hay flavor. Decent body.

Several pints at a wedding, pours a copper amber with some tight, white head. Nose has cheap malt, some roasted corn, yeast, a little metal, some lemon. Flavor has malt, grain, soggy bread crust, lemon, some carrot. Watery finish.

Bottle: Clear, amber, puffy off-white head. Stale breadheel, caramel aroma. Taste is the same plus a little dry nuttiness.... Dull....earthy caramel malt....almost and oily feel and flavour. Gets a little better as it warms, but never quite reaches a taste worth revisiting.

Sample at the taproom. The beer pours a clear amber-gold color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, caramel and slight hops. Light body with flavors of earthy malt, caramel and mild grassy hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. 12oz bottle. Clearly going for the Capital Amber market, mistakenly thinking that either are decent representations of the style. Off aromas, buttery tastes. Just all around unimpressive, cheap, and unenjoyable. Very poor for a Lager.
