Taste #002 Yankee Buzzard, and you’ll experience an exhilarating I.P.A. With a distinct Midwestern flair, an artful blend of Centennial, Chinook, Columbus and Cascade hops, quietly confident in flavor and genuine American in spirit. It’s a truly inspired take on the style. But then, we had plenty of inspiration along the way. From Gorst Valley hops, local farmers dedicated to revitalizing Wisconsin’s hops-growing tradition, who gave us encouragement and an outstanding crop.

Sample at the taproom. Clear pale orange-amber color with a medium white head that burns away steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of herbal hops, citrus and biscuit malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle. Pours crystal clear orange amber, medium creamy beige head, dissipates fairly slowly with good lacing left behind. Aroma is light pine, citrus, caramel, more pine. Flavor is light sweet and light bitter, sprucy, citrus, bread and pine. Medium body, medium soft carbonation. Also not bad, but lacking the juicy pop of the better IPAs.

12oz bottle. Filtered orange-tan body. Thin, off-white head. Middle of the road, but well done IPA. The hops are there, but not really that bold, or new school...classical American IPA. Some grapefruit, citrus tones. Easy drinking despite the big ABV.
