In 1842, the first hop farms appeared in Sauk County. The heart of the hops boom was in Kilbourn City (now Wisconsin Dells). This medium-bodied amber ale has a pleasant hoppy flavor & aroma. Locally grown hops are harvested from Brownie Zinke’s Hop Farm & are used to create this one-of-a-kind ale.

Bottle: Pours cloudy brown with a small beige head. Caramel, mild piney aroma. Taste is soft, piney hops over caramel malt. Very pleasant to drink, nice flavour and decent body. I’d call it an APA, though.

Reviewed from notes. Consumed last summer as my family and I were driving through the Dells.
At the brewpub.
Into a pint glass.
The appearance has a hazy pale orange /brown body with a film of a white head that gently dies leaving some nice clingy lacing in rings.
The smell has the hops up front strong all the way unto the end of the drink, light malts as it warms.
The taste is balanced pretty well through the hops and the malts.
On the palate, she sits about a medium on the body, is slightly sessionable, and has a carbonation that seems to be spot on for the style and for me.
Overall, what a nice APA, if youre in the Dells and are lookin’ for a nice APA don’t pass up on this, I definitely would have it again.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber with a tab head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has a good amount of earthy grain with a light backing pine hops. Flavor has more hops with a pine note up front and resin in the finish backed by earthy grains.

Draft at Moosejaw. Hazy orange-brown color. Thin, steady soapy head. Mellow malty aroma with a hint of orange hops. Mellow APA, lots of earthy hop tones. Well balanced, rather sessionable. Soapy caramel finish. OK, par stuff.
