barrels. Lastly, we really wanted to make a tasty Bock Beer for the Spring Bock
season. Brewer Brian Blazel took on this task with a passion and the end results show it. Our Doppelvision Doppelbock is a sweet malt forward lager, with subtle hints of vanilla, coconut, and bourbon from its 1 month of maturation in Bourbon barrels. Ten varieties of malt come together to produce a smooth drinkable beer with notes of coffee, toffee, and caramel. Noble German hops help balance the malt character with a hint of spice.

750ml bottle. Gunshot sounding opening, leading to some controllable gushing. Unfiltered deep burgundy amber-brown body. Big, excessive, flussy beige head. I tend to associate gushing with infection, and I find some odd, enjoyable sour edges here, It’s not all the way gone, there must have been enough malt depth to start with to be OK, but I somehow doubt this is at all what it tasted like a few weeks in...mild infection slowly aged. Not at all impressive, barely drinkable at first. Certainly came around some as it breathed, maybe showing signs of former glory.

Bottle: Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Caramel, soft orange, wood scent. Taste is woody, sweet, dark fruits and caramel malt. Smooth, creamy. Surprisingly mild...pretty good.

Bottle. Woody orange-raisin and light toffee malt aroma. Hazy orange-brown with minimal head. Sweet raisin, orange, wood, toffee malt, and mildly bitter hay/quinine flavor. Body a bit light. Not bad - not a typical doppelbock but pleasant.
