Scotch Ale Barrel Aged - The same Scotch Ale, aged exactly the same amount of time, in three different barrels. The longer the aging, the more desirable the bourbon. This barrel was used for a 5 yr. bourbon from Heaven Hill. Five years is not a lot of time when it comes to bourbon or scotch, so this was probably Evan Williams or Old Fitzgerald. When it comes to beer aging and flavor, can you tell the difference because the age of the wood?

Draft: Cloudy, brown, tan head. Caramel, almost fruity , bourbon aroma. Taste is initially the most harsh of the three versions....however...with warming, this one settle in to be very sweet and smooth with nice, distinct caramel and bourbon flavour. Ranks #3 of the trio, but still really well done.

Draft. Light toffee malt and bourbon aroma. Cloudy brown with moderate head. Sweet candied sugar, caramel malt flavor. Very light bourbon finish. The smoothest of the 3 barrel aged versions - bourbon pretty subdued.
