Bottle. Dark brown, almost black with a small head. Aroma is mostly just cinnamon. Taste is just cinnamon for the spice and chocolate in the aftertaste.

12 oz bottle from the winter variety pack. Aroma is root beer, licorice, pumpkin pie spices. Pours mahogany with a medium beige head that falls into a skiff of foam after a minute; laces a little. Tastes a lot like a pumpkin spice beer without the pumpkin. Thin body, texture is creamy to watery. Not bad for what it is. Chocolatey at the bottom of the bottle.

Bottle from the sampler case. Clear black with redish edges. Thick creamy light tan head. Lots of sweet cocoa and dark holiday spice in the aroma and flavors. Better than I expected.

Pours from a bottle a near black with a thin tan head, medium bubbles. Aroma is coriander, some esters and unsweetened chocolate. Flavor is a surprise, licorice, some heat--from pepper maybe?-- a rich roasty maltiness: coffee/chocolate. Effervescent. End result? Almost tastes like root beer or Moxie or something. Not an unpleasant result, but definitely unexpected. I’d try again with someone to have them experience it.

Bottle. Lactic chocolate malt and mild hay aroma. Black with large tan head. Lightly sweet lactic chocolate, cinnamon, malt and mildly bitter herbal flavor. Not bad.

Pour is a dark reddish brown with a large tan head. Aroma is nutmeg and cinnamon hotness like fireball. Flavor is the same spice profile but then comes a nice creamy cocoa. Finish is a bit watery but the spice and cocoa combo push this one over the top.
