Our alcohol-free weissbier is the first non-alcoholic beer ever to be marketed by the Andechs monastery brewery. The dealcoholisation process is gentle, so as to preserve that typical Andechs weissbier flavour for which it is appreciated so much.
The first thing that strikes you about the alcohol-free weissbier is its honey-to-amber colour, while its yeast turbidity is strong and yet finely structured. The multifaceted aroma is a delight, with fruit aromas including banana combined with a clove fragrance. As a drink, Andechs Alcohol-Free is very lively and highly refreshing with a satisfyingly full and elegant body. On the finish, it combines a light sweetness and fruity acidity with the distinct and yet pleasantly bitter flavour of hops, ending on a harmonious aftertaste. An alcohol-free thirst-quencher with the typical Andechs weissbier flavour: a fine yeast component, pleasantly tangy and sparkling in a way that makes you thirsty for more (original wort content: 12.5 percent by weight; alcohol content: under 0.5 percent by volume).

500ml bottle @ Quarry Tasting, July 22. Thanks Jeremy for this. Misty deep gold pour, large white head. Good weiss esters on the nose. Has the expected light body but has a pretty decent yeasty weissbier sweetness, no off-flavours. Very good AF weiss.

500ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, dark golden to amber colour with huge, firm, frothy to creamy, moderately to mostly lasting, replenished, white head. Minimally bready, wheaty malty, minimally yeasty spicy and yeasty fruity aroma, hints of crisp bread, a touch of clove, banana bread. Taste is minimally bready, wheaty malty, slightly yeasty fruity and minimally yeasty spicy, diluted hints of banana, banana bread, crisp bread, a touch of clove, subtle residual sweetness, some bitter hop, initially only as overtone, pretty more present in the finish. Watery texture, smooth, soft, minimally dry palate, medium, surprisingly soft carbonation. Light, watery, refreshing, complete absence of doughy yeasty aspects - good!

Ausgesprochen aromatisch in der Nase, optisch wunderbar, schöne Farbe und Schaum. Im Trunk recht herb, bitter, leider sehr unrund. Leicht cremig. Schade.

500ml bottle: BB 11th December 2021. Poured into a Franziskaner Weissbier glass at home on 26th August 2021. Looked like a regular Weissbier, cloudy light brown with a full billowing white head. Banana esters filled the air and I found the taste also filled with banana like flavours. Light spiciness in the taste also, difficult to tell it was alcohol free to be honest, which I consider a good thing.

Bottle from Sander, thanks! Looks like a usual hazy gold brown Weißbier, nice head as well. The nose has the distinctive banana nose with a hint of sweetness. Flavor is quite good for an alkoholfrei, but missing body and bitterness. That makes it a bit thin, though I've had regular Weißbier that was not this tasty. Surprisingly high score for Alkfrei... But it looks and smells almost like a normal Weißbier... 👍

Bottle from HoTM. It pours clear orangey - amber with a thick, fluffy off-white head. The aroma is sweet ripe banana, slightly chalky, banana split, warming spice, clove rock and something almost medicinal. The taste is initially dry with some bitterness, sour almost, green banana, hay, sponge cake, orange peel, touch of clove, wheat cracker and cereal with a dry finish. Pretty unique stuff. Light body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Works well.

Cloudy amber color and a beautiful, white head with fine and long lasting bubbles. Nose is fruity bananas, yeast and clove. Taste follows the nose. Nice carbonation. Good one!
